Gambling firms bracing for budget tax changes

Having seen the UK's casinos battered by last year's budget analysts expect an easier ride for gambling firm's this time around.

Having lobbied government intensely for years over so-called double taxation on bingo revenues the industry is desperately hoping Alastair Darling will remove VAT on revenues. The currently pay 15 percent Gross Profits Tax but Analysts say bingo firms may have to wait a little longer however with of announce a change to the rules.

Removal of the VAT on bingo revenues

This involves both VAT (17.5 percent) and Gross Profits Tax (15 percent) being applied to bingo revenues.
